Description of the Class:
Discover a hot sculpting and improve your skills based on daily demostration which provide you insight on unique techniques and approaches to solid and blown glass sculpting. The students will explore process and the potential of the glass material with the chance to realise three-dimensional works from their own drawings. Some glassblowing experience is recommended.
The stay will be accompanied by glass review talk, a lecture of instructors, a commented visit of the IGS exhibition and an excursion of the Sazava Monastery.
Profile of the Instructor:
Martin Janecky began his career with glass at the age of 13 and later explored sculpting methods in the Czech Republic. By the time he was 20, he was employed by leading artists and designers around the world to assist and to execute specific works. Janecky has served as an instructor, visiting artist, and gaffer at several glassmaking schools, including The Studio, Penland School of Crafts, and Pilchuck Glass School.
